About

I work at AWS building systems that move massive amounts of data across the RDS fleet. Think exabyte-scale data pipelines, distributed systems that need to handle thousands of transactions per second, and infrastructure that can't go down.

Before AWS, I contributed to Apache TinkerPop—an open-source graph computing framework. I built the Go driver and fixed Windows compatibility issues that had been broken for years.

I also led the navigation team at UBC AgroBot, where we built autonomous systems for agricultural robots. Computer vision, path planning, the whole deal.

Work

AWS RDS

2024–now

Building data export infrastructure for Amazon RDS. Working on distributed systems that move petabytes of data from database instances to S3, handling the entire AWS RDS fleet across all database engines.

UBC AgroBot

2022–23

Led the navigation team building autonomous systems for agricultural robots. Implemented crop row detection algorithms using OpenCV and built the autopilot features in ROS.

BitQuill Technologies

Jan–Aug 2022

Worked on graph database technologies and contributed to Apache TinkerPop. Built the Go driver for Gremlin (graph query language) and fixed Windows build compatibility. Became a committer to the Apache Software Foundation.

Projects

Capstone distributed systems project for analyzing semantic relationships in large text datasets.

Contributor to the open source graph computing framework that allows different graph database engines to interoperate.

Contributed to the Navigation subteam for UBC's autonomous agricultural robot engineering design team.

IoT security solution using Raspberry Pi to detect unauthorized access and send email alerts with image capture.

C++ based wearable assistive device for real-time object detection.
